Mother charged with removal of child

By Leslie Dees

Jessica Jean Moak, 47, has been extradited from Florida and now sits in Attala County Jail, Sheriff William Lee said Tuesday.

Moak, who is charged with interstate removal of a child, was to make her first court appearance Wednesday for taking her daughter, Nadia, from McCool.

Nadia was reported missing from on Tuesday night, Aug. 5, and hat she had been taken by her mother.

The child was found Wednesday night in Bay City, Fla., with her mother by authorities.

Jessica has no visitation rights to the child.

Bond has been set at $250,000.

Other

Ezequiel Lopez, 22, was charged with disturbance of family.

The Attala County Sheriff’s Department went to Yolanda Valquez’s residence on Attala County Road 2247 Sunday after it was reported that Lopez was trying to kick in the door of the residence.

Lee said Valquez had locked out her live-in boyfriend because he was drunk.

While working a wreck on Attala County Road 4167 Saturday, Deputy Keith Cummins charged Mark Kidd, 51, with driving under the influence. The driver of the other vehicle – Eric Pierce – was taken to Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital and later released.

Lakeshia Porter reported her tires had been slashed at her Hannah Heights Apartment in Ethel on Tuesday, Aug. 12. There are suspects at this time, Lee said.
