The re-birth of Kosciusko High School slow-pitch softball began with a bang on Saturday as they shut-out both opponents in a season-opening round-robin at Hugh Ellard Park.
Victoria Sheffield tossed a three-inning no-hitter in the opener as the Lady Whippets defeated St. Aloysius of Vicksburg. Kosy then closed out the day with a 10-0 win over Ethel.
In between Kosciusko's wins, Ethel coach Chris Schuster picked up his first career win as a slow-pitch softball coach as the Lady Tigers took an 11-1 win over St. Al.
Ethel hosts Edinburg in a doubleheader on Monday at 4:30 p.m., while Kosciusko visits Weir.
