By Leslie N. Dees

Attala County Sheriff William Lee said three people were charged with possession of precursors to make methamphetamine on Thursday, Aug. 7.

Talmage Watkins, 46, Kim Watkins 42, and Kevin Horne, 48, were charged after they were pulled over on Highway 35 South.

They are still in Attala County Jail. Talmage was wanted on a grand larceny warrant in Leake County.

Thefts

On Aug. 5, Carl Sanders reported a child’s four-wheeler, a John Deere riding lawn mower and a red Wizard lawnmower were taken from his property on Attala County Road 4237. The items were valued at $4,550.

A tip led the ACSD to the residence of Jamie Moore in Sallis, where they recovered the four-wheeler and Moore was charged with receiving stolen property. He is out on $5,000 bond.

Lee said the department is still looking for the other missing items.

On Aug. 7, Tony Wingard reported six radiators were taken from his residence on Attala County Road 4022.

Also on Aug. 7, Riley Vaughn reported his truck has been broken into at the Big Black River Bridge.

Lee said the damage plus the missing speakers and other electronic equipment taken is valued at $1,505.
