Exhibits in quilted art, needlecraft, clothing and hobbycraft will be accepted at the coliseum Monday, July 30, 3-8 p.m.
Vegetable show, food preservation, youth, art and photography exhibits will also be accepted on Monday.
Flower show exhibits will be accepted on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 8-10 a.m.
Judging of all exhibits will take place on Wednesday and the coliseum will be open for viewing, 6-9 p.m. through Friday. All exhibits must be removed from the coliseum, Saturday, Aug. 4, 8-10 a.m.
Senior Day
Friday has been designated Senior Day at the fair with activities planned in the coliseum beginning at 9 a.m. First 100 to register will get a free lunch of hot dog, chips, drink and ice cream provided by Wal-Mart, Sunflower, LuVel, Frito-Lay and Merchants & Farmers Bank.
The event is being provided for senior citizens, age 50 and older and is sponsored by the Attala County Farm Bureau, Merchants & Farmers Bank.
Free screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, oxygen saturation, and vision will be offered until 12:30 p.m. Vendors are: Area Agency on Aging, Kosciusko Fire Department, Acadian On Call Medical Alert, Central Medical Equipment, Sta Home Health Agency, United Medical, Quality Health Care, Kosciusko Medical Clinic, Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital, Attala County Library, RSVP, Helping Hands Ministry, Attala County Extension Service and Lions Club.
A scavenger hunt will be conducted among the vendors and winner will be selected in a drawing. Bingo will be offered at 10 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m. Police Chief R.J. Adams will give a talk on senior safety, and Fire Chief Duane Burdine will talk on fire safety.
At 11 a.m. Bill Walker, Al and Betty Milner will entertain with guitar, fiddle playing and singing. At 11:30, Elvis, portrayed by Kosciusko native Tim Johnson, will add to the entertainment.
Activities for seniors will conclude at 12:30 p.m.
Fairest of the Fair
One of the highlights of Friday night will be the Fairest of the Fair Pageant at 6:30. Contestants will compete in categories ranging from 0-12 months to 15-18 years. A winner from each category will be crowned. Contestants under four while on stage must be escorted by parent or guardian.
All contestants must attend a time of practice today (Thursday) at 6 p.m. in the coliseum.
