Sports Challenge not limited to businesses

The Central Mississippi Fair’s Corporate Sports Challenge is going to be the messiest yet according to organizers.

Josh McGee along with the rest of last year’s winning team Merchants and Farmers Bank have been calculating ways to make the annual competition the craziest yet.

The Kosciusko-Attala Development Corporation is looking for teams consisting of four men and four women with two alternates to compete in the Water Balloon Bounce, Outlandish Relay, Jumping Rope Race and Egg Toss.

Water Balloon Bounce – Players will hold a large water balloon in their teeth and drop it into a chair, where the next team member has to sit on it and pop the balloon.

Outlandish Relay includes a bat spin, hurdles through a small pool of water, hopping on one leg around four small cones, hool-a-hoop and finishes by sliding or crawling under a pole to the finish line.

Jumping Rope Race – Jumping rope to the end of the course.

Egg Toss – Consists of tossing an egg overhand until the egg is broken or damaged.

And if you aren’t a business and still want to participate don’t worry.

KADC Vice President Greg Cooper said church as well as other organizations are welcome.

All are urged to participate in the challenge for bragging rights on Thursday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds field.

Team entry fee is $150 and the deadline to apply is today (Thursday.)
