WILLIAMS VS. WILLIAMS, AGAIN

For the 41st time Serena and Venus Williams will meet on the tennis court at professionals when they face off for the Wimbledon women's championship early on Saturday morning.

And, once again, daddy won't be there.

Family patriarch Richard Williams, who traditionally does not watch his daughters play against each other, will be flying back to California after he watches the dynamic duo play for the doubles championship today.

The two have split the last three matches they have played.

Venus will be going for her sixth Wimbledon singles championship and eighth major all, while Serena will be seeking her 11th major and third Wimbledon title.



EX-GOLDEN EAGLE MAKES THE BIGS

Former USM standout infielder Jarrett Hoffpauir was promoted to the Major Leagues when he joined the St. Louis Cardinals on July 1.

Hoffpauir slugged 10 homers this season for the AAA Memphis Redbirds this season. He played for USM from 2002-2004 and is the last Golden Eagle to hit .400 in a season, batting .405 and hitting 11 homers in 2004.
