Summer Coin Crew workers to be notified June 15

During the Monday morning meeting of the Attala County Board of Supervisors, Kosciusko-Attala Development Corporation CEO Steve Zea said those chosen to be a part of the summer youth employment opportunity program will be notified of their placement by June 15.
About 50 jobs will be provided for young men and women ages 14 – 24 this summer as part of the “Summer Coin Crew” being administered by the Mississippi Partnership Local Workforce Area through Three Rivers Planning and Development District in Pontotoc and in cooperation with Northeast Planning and Development District in Booneville, North Central Planning and Development District in Winona, and the Golden Triangle Planning and Development District in Starkville.
Zea said the program’s local coordinator Michelle Brown has been going through applications and making sure applicants have all the proper paper work.
In other business
The supervisors approved the following:
–Payment to Gardener Engineering
–Travel for the election commissioners to Hinds Community College and Delta State University for training this month.
–Courthouse elevator inspection agreement.
–Grant agreement and amended agreement for consulting services for Home Investment Partnership Grant and Home Buyer Assistance Grant.
–District 5 to purchase a tractor and mower on state contract
–District 4 to work on some drainage issues on Attala County Road 4167 and advertise for equipment.
The meeting ended with an executive session to discuss a legal matter.
