County crime briefs: ACSD, KPD K-9 make drug arrest, more

With a little help from the Kosciusko K-9 unit and a search warrant, the Attala County Sheriff’s Department found crack cocaine at an Attala County residence.
Sheriff William Lee said Michelle Randle, 39, was charged with possession of a controlled substance on Friday.
Lee said he and five other deputies raided the property.
Randle is out on a $5,000 bond.
Lee thanks KPD for their assistance.

Vandalism
On May 18, Ethel Town Clerk Annette Sanders reported someone had spray painted the bottom of Ethel’s water tower.
Lee said subjects got through a fence and the investigation is on going.


Weekend arrests
The ACSD is reporting two driving under the influence arrests.
On Saturday, Kristopher Walker was charged with first offense DUI and careless driving.
On Sunday, L.A. Barksdale, 48, was charged with DUI and suspended driver’s license.

Bad check
Sherry Smith of Weir was charged after writing a bad check of $170 on a closed account to Ella’s Country Store in McCool.
Lee said she is charged with a felony.

Domestic violence
Justin Comer was charged with domestic violence/aggravated assault and malicious mischief on May 19.
