Republic Finance staff, manager honored for service
By Nancy Green
Republic Finance, a part of the Kosciusko community for 50 years, has been recognized for its fund raising efforts in behalf of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and Randall Kelly, manager, has been recognized for 25 years service.
At the annual company meeting in February, the Kosciusko office received one of 22 display trophies for having raised more than $1,000 in their area. The office staff was also awarded JDRF jackets for being the top fundraiser in the company.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the world’s leading nonprofit, nongovernmental funder of diabetes research, was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with juvenile diabetes – a disease which strikes children and adults suddenly, makes them insulin dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.
Kelly, along with other staff members, Julie Abels and Ashley Blailock expressed appreciation to all those who contributed to the cause.
Kelly, manager of Republic Finance in Kosciusko, was awarded a plaque for his 25 years service to the company. He worked in Meridian, Brookhaven and McComb before coming to the Kosciusko office in 1988.
Republic Finance, based in Baton Rouge, was founded in 1955. The Kosciusko office was opened in 1958 and has been in its present location, 205 W. Jefferson Street since 1960.
Seventy-seven offices are located in Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.
