    The sun was shining and Main Street in Ethel was full of people milling around at various arts and crafts booths during the 26th Annual May Day Festival Saturday.

  • Prayers heard at Courthouse
    Approximately 100 people gathered on the Attala County Courthouse lawn Thursday, May 1, to bow their heads during the National Day of Prayer ceremony. The event was sponsored by the Kosciusko-Williamsville Ministerial Association.

  • Weaver becomes Greenlee’s top man
    Transfer of a principal and several resignations were accepted at Monday night’s meeting of the Attala County School Board.
    Brian Weaver, principal at McAdams High School for the past four years, is transferring to Greenlee Elementary School as principal, upon the recommendation of Supt. Larry Stevens. Rusty McKnight, who has served two years as Greenlee principal, resigned to accept the principal position at French Camp Academy.

    The Kosciusko Police Department reports the following arrests:
    On Sunday, Charles Lewis, 45, of Sallis, was charged with speeding and suspended driver’s license on Highway 12 West by Cpl. Danny Groves.

  • Author signing copies of book about brother
    Hazel Janell Meredith, sister of James H. Meredith, will autograph copies of her book “My Brother J-Boy” Sunday, May 11, 2-4 p.m. at Joint Heirs With Christ Church, 606 Gilliland Street in Kosciusko.
