Festival great despite rain

You know what or to put it another way – I'll tell you what. They pulled it off! A great festival that is.

With heavy rain at times along with slow drizzle most of the day; everyone seemed to be having a great time.

I was down there twice and had two cups of coffee and a sausage biscuit at Rib Alley the first time. A lot of folks came in to get out of the down pour. There were hawkers out front inviting folks to come in out of the rain and get a bite. While I was there, Sen. Roger Wicker and his wife came in. I was proud to meet them.

The vendors stayed and the crowds were large. More on my second visit later!

There were many umbrellas of all shapes and colors.

Adults and children seemed to be having a ball. The mayor was walking around shaking hands and standing tall. I saw the police chief and he was grinning from ear to ear as always. Hi!

Homeland Security was there protecting us and I told him I was looking for road numbers. He responded by saying you want find any here, just ole fashion street names. We had a good laugh.

Now for my second visit to the festival came at noon. I got some great food. Now lets give credit where credit is due. The city and chamber did a great job to make Saturday a success. It takes a lot of work to put an event like this on. Rain or no rain. Thank you.

I have an old saying that goes like this. I tells it like I sees it!!! May God bless our great nation, our state and all the citizens of Attala County.
