Providence thankful for support

— We, the members of the Providence volunteer fire department wish to thank the following merchants and individuals for their generous donations for our recent fundraiser, held on Saturday, April 5.
This was our first attempt to raise money toward the purchase of firefighting gear for forest fires and we would not have been successful without the kindness shown by Sullivan Drugs, Stewart’s Pawn Shop, Digital Depot, CVS Pharmacy, Ronnie’s Discount Tools, Scarborough Building Supply, Attala County Co-op, JB’s Quick Stop, Central Mississippi Office Supply, Thompson Tractor Repair, Sears, Attala Oil, Bell Chevrolet, Lightning Lube, Wal-Mart, Spot Cash Tire and Appliance, Josephine’s, Attala Discount Drugs, Leonard’s, Fred’s, Malone Tractor, Hilltop Furniture, 1st Hardware Company, Scott Petroleum, Patterson Jewelers, Fair Oil, Dickerson Petroleum, Pepsi, Culpepper Funeral Home, Penn’s Restaurant, Sunflower Food Store No. 10, Tyson’s, Jeff’s Woodwork, and Millard Ferguson.
We’d also like to thank Chad Fortune of Zama volunteer fire department for his tireless donation of time and talent in cooking the chicken, Tommy Malone and group as well as Doug Hancock for providing music and entertainment, and for Sheriff William Lee as auctioneer for the evening.
Thank you to the ladies who made cakes and pies for our auction as well. Also, we’d like to thank the community for their participation by purchasing raffle tickets, tickets for chicken plates, and attending our auction. We couldn’t have done any of this without you.
