Reader seeks help for elderly man

I am presently concerned with Mr. Orea Nash, an elderly gentleman, who is 85, that can’t seem to get any assistance from the city or county officials.

He resides at 212 South East Street in Kosciusko, where his home burned about a month ago.

For the past four weeks, Mr. Nash has been working to get his property back in shape so that he can get on with his life.

On March 13, I finally got in contact with the Red Cross after numerous calls. Unfortunately, Mr. Nash was told they could not do anything because of the seven-day clause.

Mr. Nash has not only been forgotten by the city but the neighborhood as well.

I am asking for men, who are contractors, to stop by and see if they can give a lending hand or advice.

You would think with all the compassionate people in this area, seeing an older person working hard by himself that people would be more concerned.

I would greatly appreciate any help he can get at this time. Monetary donations would be greatly appreciated.
