B.B. Boyd, postmaster of McCool, was elected moderator of the Attala County Baptist Association in its final session at Ethel Baptist Church Friday afternoon Thirty-one Baptist Churches of Attala compose the group.
If football games were won by the score of 1-0 then the Tipton Hi Bobcats would be looking for a victory of that sort for just one victory is all that is needed for the Bobcats to become 1959 CMAC champions. Last week the Bobcats advanced another step closer by defeating Maben by the score of 27-0, and as the Bobcats had defeated Lexington to the tune of 40-0 so it left the Bobcats conference record at 4-0.
Jimmy Bruce has been chosen “Whippet of the Week” for his performance last week. Jimmy is a member of the junior class.
Winners and prizes in the Attala County Plant to Prosper Program for 1959, sponsored by the Kosciusko Attala Chamber of Commerce, have been announced by Frank Gayden, secretary-manager.

A list of dignitaries headed by a leading Polish American businessman and a United States Senator will be in Kosciusko Thursday afternoon to participate in the formal dedication of the Kosciuszko Museum and Information Center. Promoters expect a large crowd of spectators to be on hand when the facility is formally opened to serve the dual role of information center for travelers and museum to showcase the area’s culture.
Officers were named during the Attala Baptists annual associational meeting held Monday night. They are Charles England, treasurer; Mrs. Stacy Chandler, clerk; Rev. Johnny Parks, moderator; Jim Clark, vice president.
Eight Kosciusko spirit leaders have been responsible for keeping a winning feeling running high through the halls of KHS this football season. They are Kim Taylor, Audra Love, Alisia Adams, Melissa Hutchison, Lisa Pinkard, Tammy Prewitt, Chandra Hull and Michelle White.
Twenty-seven colorful quilts, delicately stitched in patterns ranging from Dresden Plate to Flying Geese will go on the auction block Saturday night, Nov. 3, in the Attala County Coliseum. Proceeds from the sale of the quilts will benefit St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in Memphis. Idea for the auction was conceived by Mrs. Kenneth Chennault and Mrs. John Beckham.
