Dr. and Mrs. Timothy Johnstone Alford of Kosciusko announce the engagement of their daughter, Leah Mabry Alford, to Steven Talmadge Hendrix, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Michael Hendrix of Madison.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. Alton Bernard Cobb of Jackson, and Dr. and Mrs. John Marvin Alford of Tupelo, and the late Virginia Small Alford of Greenwood. The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Joe Ann Neely of Richland, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Wallace Hendrix of Louisville, and the late Vernon Dell Neely, Sr. of Richland.
Miss Alford is a 2003 graduate of Kosciusko High School. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Millsaps College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Faith and Work. She was a member and executive officer of Chi Omega Fraternity, Beta Beta Beta and a President’s list scholar. She currently teaches at St. Andrews’ Episcopal School in Ridgeland.
Mr. Hendrix is a 2002 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. He graduated cum laude from Millsaps College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. While at Millsaps he was an all conference performer in both football and baseball. He is currently a first year medical student at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine where he serves as his class representative to the American Medical Association.
The couple will exchange vows at 6:30 p.m. on June 28, 2008 at First United Methodist Church in Kosciusko. A reception will follow at the home of the bride’s parents. No in-town invitations are being sent. All friends and family are invited to attend.
