The search for a new girls basketball coach at McAdams High School has apparently finally come to an end.
Marvin McGee was officially approved by the Attala County School Board for the position on Tuesday afternoon.
McGee is the second person to be approved by the board for the job. Carl Hawthorne was approved earlier this month, but declined to accept the position.
Attala County Superintendent of Education Larry Stevens said Hawthorne wasn't leaving his current position at South Leake.
The Lady Bulldogs of McAdams High School won the MHSAA Class 1A State Basketball Championship under coach Kenyon Ross, who resigned to take a similar position at Durant High School next spring.
McAdams High School principal Katie Jamison said McGee, who was an assistant coach at Bailey Magnet School last year, would also teach physical education.
Jamison said she had been in touch with McGee on Tuesday and that he had officially accepted the position.
"He is a young man with a lot of enthusiasm," she said. "He is ready to hit the ground running."
